Island Shaped Like a Woman: Original

She is the island shaped like a woman.
A flowered vine and lovely trees
Nestle on the multicolored contours
Of her shapely hair,
And the monks dwell
In a tall pagoda
Overlooking the sea.
On her left shoulder is the sacred Bonsai;
On her right, out of the fertile flesh,
There grows a rose.

Follow the steps downward,
Board the waiting ship:
It is time to leave.

Go, traveler,
In your never-ending search:
Blue waves,
Moon pale like a kiss,
Leaping dolphins,
Fish flying in the sky.
